Last Weeks' Haul

Hello!
So, this is my first 'haul' post, but I buy that much stuff that it most certainly won't be the last. To be honest a lot of the stuff in this post is what my mum bought me over the weekend while I stayed in the warm! But non the less, it's still stuff to post about.

Clockwise from the top:
Black pumps - Primark £6
White Shorts - Primark £5
Lightwash Jeans - Primark £7
'86' Varsity Tee - Topshop £20 (£15 with staff discount)
Blue/White Pumps - Decathlon £4.99
Knee High Socks(Khaki) - Primark £1!
Pyjamas - Primark - £8
Grey Joggers - Primark £5
Cross Print Scarf - Primark £4

I also got the cutest underwear set but it's already been worn and is in the wash so it's not on the picture, but that was also from Primark and was only £5. I do really rate Primark at this time of the year as some of their S/S stock is fab! And cheap for if you go on holiday and don't want to spend a fortune. I'm so thankful for my Arcadia Staff Card atm, as I am a serial spender especially having to put Topshop stock through the tills all day at work! I've loved the varsity tee since I saw it on a graphic and when we finally got it on our delivery it was already on my staffcard before it was on the shopfloor. I go on holiday in July down south to Bournemouth so i'm hoping that the weather is nice enough for me to wear all this as i'm putting it away for when I go, but whether a few items nip out before then, who knows!

The Beauty Products (Top to Bottom):
Advanced Techniques Hair Mask - Avon £2.75
ColourTrend LipStix in Gone Pink - Avon £1.99
Louise Gray Eye Palette - Topshop £1
Topshop Eyes in Painted - 50p
Natural Collection Eye Duo in Vanilla/Plum - Boots £1.99
17 doll'd up Mascara - Boots £2
Collection Extreme 24Hr Liner - Boots £2.99
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair - Boots £4.19

I'm so happy with all the beauty products I bought this week, especially the doll'd up mascara! I've used the Collection SkyLash since it was first released but this has definitely taken over. It's the first 17 mascara that I have bought and I had a coupon to get it for £2 rather than £6.49 so I couldn't give it a miss really. I love the Avon LipStix lipstick too, the colour goes on exactly what it looks like in the stick and is super soft. I think my bargain buy this week has to be the Topshop makeup for £1.50 for two pieces. The Louise Gray Pallette was an absolute must for me as being a makeup artist, good makeup in my kit goes for better results and it was only £1! I wasn't too sure on the eyeshadow colour at first, but for 50p I couldn't leave it.

The last thing I bought was a new case for my phone. My first one I bought when I originally got my iPhone 5 was pretty, and simple but I get bored so easily so I treat myself to a new one. This was only £2.99 from ebay and it came through the post this morning and I love it! It's pretty chunky, but i'm so clumsy and I drop things a lot so this one is definitely better for protecting my phone from the floor.

So that's it guys... finally! Thanks for reading.

Matchfit Advanced Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair and Media Makeup Finals 2013

Last week my friend Taylor and I competed in a semi-final heat for Matchfit's Advanced Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair and Media Makeup competition. The theme we were given was Children's Characters, and rather than do a predictable character, I chose Maleficent, from Disney's Sleeping Beauty. After all the fuss of the other competitors not showing up, we still did the heat as though they had and were marked 38 marks out of 40. A few days later we found out we'd done enough to get through to the finals at Bradford College.

Finals were yesterday, and... We won 1st Place!!!! I've never been so proud of myself in my entire life, and I don't think I've stopped smiling since!

We were against 4 other colleges including Bradford, Leeds, Grimsby and Calderdale. All the entries did super, but in the end the judges decided that 3rd place went to Bradford (they had done a Zebra type character) and that 2nd place went to Leeds (they also chose a villain, but did Ursula and it was so fab!) and then of course that 1st place went to us from Rotherham College.

This is our final look, modelled by the lovely Sarah Anderson (who also does the same course as us). We split the work between us as we only had 2 and a half hours do finish our complete look. The makeup was done by me, with my own original design. The body art was done by Taylor, and the hair was a joint effort to complete the look. The horns are hair pieces that were made by us and added on the competition floor.

I honestly am over the moon with the final result and I think we definitely came out of judging feeling confident. We sold it to the judges as much as we could and it obviously paid off! I'm so proud of us both and couldn't have asked for a better partner or model. It has given me so much confidence in my own work and to go forward for other competitions, so I am super grateful to anyone that supported me throughout!
